Just in case you're not into famous prostitutes (who isn't these days), Cynthia Payne was a well known high class escort girl and madam and via Gert's Mad Musings of Me, I found out that she doesn't think that the latest famous prostitute (Belle de Jour) rings true.
Payne's argument in The Guardian is quite interesting, but I went "eewww" on reading this about one of her clients:
"I once had one who asked for a girl who hadn't washed under her armpits for a month. He said that's what turned him on - he used to travel on the tube on particularly hot days and get up close to sweaty women for the thrill."
